The pillars of the nation

Yesterday had the Bondue facilitators camp on from morning till, today morning. Ha.

Hmmm, went to Clarke Quay with some of the guys and girls, KF they all.... At 2 am, we were sitting on the bridge along Clarke Quay. They were drinking, eating peanuts. I didn't drink, but was there to keep them company.

Hmmm picture this, 7 of us sitting on the side of a bridge. Lit orange by the street lamp posts. Across the bridge on the other side were two people smoking and drinking as well. I looked at the calm, peaceful river, and the few stars we see in Singapore skies. And I looked at my friends. Drinking, eating peanuts, making jolly, laughing and all... as the late-night clubbers and pubbers strolled passed.

And I looked at my friends again... a suddenly this thought came to me, and I was really amused. The brightest minds of SMU.The future business leaders of Singapore. Drinking. Sitting on the bridge like nobodies of the world. I looked at them again. Indeed, the future of our nation. Hahaha..

KF asked one girl," Do you think 30 years down the road, you'll remember this moment with us guys here on the bridge?". Interesting thought... hmm...

I didn't sleep at all and I went back home at 5.50 am to take a bath, only to collapse on my bed and never wake up again..... until 2 pm. Oh well, I missed the morning part of the camp, but I guess it's probably nothing much anyway.

Hmm, in between the camp I went for my cell group, and the word of the week was about the law of expectation. That positive people indeed do experience a blessed life, and that negative people experience a sad one, as they expect. It's something that I've read about a long time ago even before I received Christ, and until now I still haven't fully got the logic of it, though it plays itself out really well, as I've seen it in my own life and others.
